Castles For Sale

Dear Readers,
My husband and I will be travelling to England in October, so thought I'd better do some preliminary research on what's for sale in the way of castles.

Click on the above link and take a look. If any of them look interesting, let me know and I'll arrange a showing for you (after proof of financial pre-approval, of course). :-)

The closest thing to something I could afford is a 3 bedroom apartment in the back of a castle in Ringwood, Hampshire.

Sigh...
Carol

Carol,

As you and your reader may know, you don't have to leave this country to buy a castle. In fact, there is a group here in Massachusetts calling itself, "New American Castle," see:

They have a blog like site at the link below, but there is no way to comment:

About three years ago, we were working with a "castle owner" in Lowell, MA and assembled considerable research on the national and to a lesser extend, international castle market. Haven't checked it recently, but if anyone is interested in a Castle in New England, I can provide more detail.

It's a fun subject, and you'd be surprised how many hits some of the castle tour sites get monthly! Even the Wall Street Journal has written about the Castle fantasy / niche market.

As for me, a vow of poverty comes naturally. I won't mind hanging out with the trolls under the draw bridge.
